WTO forecasts 8% trade growth
WTO forecasts 8% trade growth in 2021 after a contraction of 5.3% last year. Prospects for a quick rebound in world trade have improved, but economists warn of an uneven recovery after the COVID19 shock.
The trade rebound since mid-2020 helped soften the blow of the pandemic and now the task at hand is to keep trade flowing, including for vaccines and critical medical products, WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo‑Iweala.
