Borussia Monchengladbach supporters paid to have cardboard cutouts of themselves put in the stadium

We’re probably still a few months away from returning to living a somewhat normal lifestyle again, but on the other side of the world they’re slowly starting to get back on track, including the sports world.

Borussia Mönchengladbach of the German football / soccer Bundesliga has a plan to fill their stands with fill-in fans, only their fill-ins are going to have the faces of actual fans.

As a way to show support for the club, Borussia Mönchengladbach paid to have their images put on massive cardboard cutouts, that way if and when the team returns to action, they won’t be playing in front of an entirely empty crowd.

This might become to the new normal for a lot of sports teams for a little bit, at least while we’re entirely clear of anymore health risks.
