EU on the way to end Daylight Saving Time model

A “broad majority” of EU countries are in favour of putting an end to daylight saving, but say they need more time.

After informal talks in Austria yesterday, transport ministers concluded that ending clock changes in 2019 would lead to “catastrophic” cross-border travel chaos, calling to delay any moves until 2021.

The European Commission last month proposed to let individual member states choose whether to stick with permanent summer or winter time.

Time is running out in EU for the Daylight Saving Time idea.
