Midsummer!

There is nothing Swedish people loves more than the Midsummer celebration ! This is by far the biggest holiday of Sweden, going back to our proud ancient Viking traditions.

Our own Midsummer pole traditionally made by me early in the morning of Midsummer Eve.

The successful midsummer never-ending lunch party formula involves flowers in your hair, dancing around a pole, singing songs while drinking unsweetened, flavoured schnapps.

And downing a whole load of pickled herring served with delightful new potatoes, chives and sour cream.

There is a traditional Midsummer buffe served in every Swedish home today, with herring, new potaties, sour cream, chives, meatballs and loads of vodka. Ended by strawberries and cream – and more vodka.

All in all, a grand day out. Happy midsummer everybody!
