Co-host Sweden won their first match at the 2023 Handball World Cup with 26:18 (11:9) against Brazil.
Halfway through the first half, the Scandinavians reversed the Brazilian lead and gained a lead of their own. In the second half, the Swedish team turned up the heat more and more and established a comfortable lead with a quarter of an hour to go. Especially the defense around Andreas Palicka, whose save percentage was at 50%, presented himself World Cup-ready and played a big part in the ultimately clear victory.

Danish food pioneer René Redzepi has announced that he is closing the ’worlds best restaurant’ Noma in Copenhagen at the end of 2024.
The owner of the world-famous Copenhagen restaurant – located close to the Maersk HQ – which in recent years has had three stars in the Michelin guide, announced the news in an interview in the New York Times.
According to René Redzepi, it is not sustainable to run the top restaurants as it is done today. It is not possible to pay a staff of upwards of 100 people while keeping the prices at a level that the guests want to pay, he says in the interview with the New York Times.
What happens with Noma ? Starting in 2025, they plan to focus harder on innovation and test operations in what Noma’s website calls “a giant lab”, where they look out into the world and start short-lived pop-up restaurants for shorter periods.
Noma has been voted ’best restaurant in the world’ four times. i agree, it is the best restaurant I have visited, in fact it is sensational.

The Handball World Championship has started. Team Handball is my old sport, which I practiced as semi-professional with some success in my youth.
I love this sport. For those of you who are not familiar with Handball, it is an Olympic sport played indoors with seven players on the field. It is a hard, very physical and tactical game.
Now the World Championship has started, when one of the favorites, France beat one of the organizers Poland 26-24 – in the opening game of the tournament yesterday.
32 teams will participate in 28th IHF World Men’s Handball Championship from Jan 11 to 29, 2023. The matches will be held in 9 stadiums across Poland & Sweden.
Sweden starts tonight by playing Brazil. i will go and watch some of the games in my home town Malmö, where Denmarks group are playing in front of a sold out stadium (with thousands of Danes),
The favourites this time are; reigning champions Denmark, hosts and European Champions Sweden, France and Spain. Iceland has a very youbg and talented team that will be interesting to watch.
