Maersk will be the strategic logistics partner of ASOS, a British online fashion and cosmetic retailer, for supply chain management (SCM), according to a new multi-year partnership agreement signed by the two companies.

Under the agreement, Maersk and ASOS will partner on SCM along with ocean and air services into all fulfillment centres globally.

ASOS’ four fulfillment centres, two located in the United Kingdom, one in Germany and one in the United States, handled almost 100 million orders in the company’s most recent financial year.

“Over a short period, ASOS has built a robust strategic relationship with Maersk, bringing together two leading businesses. Together we have continued to focus on driving speed to market, helping us improve our customer proposition and support our continued growth,” commented David Flavell, head of supply chain at ASOS.

ASOS serves over 26 million active customers in over 200 markets and these customers can shop from a variety of 70,000 products, sourced from nearly 900 of the global and local partner brands and its mix of fashion-led own-brand labels.

“We first started working with ASOS during the pandemic, when we were able to support the business in a challenging market. This new strategic partnership is a testament to the strength of the relationship we built during that period,” noted Gary Jeffreys, Maersk’s area managing director in UK & Ireland.

Jeffreys, added, “We can provide a global e-commerce fashion retailer like ASOS with the needed agility, speed and resilience in its supply chain because we are owning and controlling the assets along the transport chain from factory to fulfillment centres.”

My favourite waste of time is a song by one of my old time heroes Marshall Crenshaw. It was later made famous by artists like, Bette Midler and Owen Paul.

Today I am at the library, surrounded by books, working, writing the final chapters of my latest book project. Life is about learning, learning is life. Every day I learn something new. I love this environment. This is my favourite waste of time.

Last month my SoMe platforms passed 300.000 viewersfor the first time ever. A landmark moment.

In January I had 301.244 visitors. I guess I can call myself an influencer now.

The areas I cover is really at the center of attention right now with a world in turbolence and change and with transformation of global trade. People seem to agree on that which these numbers are indicatkng.

I am grateful that so many people like to read about customs, borders and trade. I will continue to share my thoughts and insights on topics that I am passionate about. There is more news to come.

Thank you!
