In 1995 on the Born in the USA tour, Bruce Springsteen played two sold out arena shows at Ullevi in Gothenburg. I was there both nights.
These are legendary performances, even from a Springsteen perspective.
The Boss calls the second show for the ’Stadium Breaker’, the reason being that the arena got cracked during the extra songs of the second show, when the band played ’Twist and Shout’. People danced and jumped too much.
The concrete fundation of the arena was damaged during the show and no concerts were allowed in many years while they repaired the stadium. Luckily nobody got hurt during the ’human earthquake’ caused by Springsteen.
In 2008 when The E Street Band was back, Spribgsteen played ’The Stadium Breaker’ again. See above. He has played it many times since then, always mentioning the legendary 1995 show.
