The trade war escalates and the on-going tariff conflict has this week reached previously unseen levels.
- Vietnam faces highest tariff at staggering 46%
- China, Taiwan, Indonesia exceed 30% tariff rates
- EU, Japan, South Korea impacted with steep levies
- Canada, Mexico spared—USMCA compliance shields them
- Maritime Analyticic wrote: ”These tariffs mark a systemic pivot—reshaping global sourcing, elevating ASEAN manufacturing, and pressuring logistics players to redesign trade routes for speed, compliance, and risk mitigation.”
In line with global tariffs announced by the United States (US) government on 3 April 2025, we wanted to make sure you have further information for your business and supply chain moves. The announced trade policy changes will take effect in April and May 2025. These measures involve:
- Broad Tariffs on global imports to the US
- The elimination of duty-free de monilis treatment for low-value exports from China and Hong Kong to the US
