Theresa May to meet Jeremy Corbyn for Brexit talks tonight

Theresa May has agreed to meet Jeremy Corbyn for more cross-party talks on Brexit despite pleas from her own Cabinet to abandon them.

After a marathon Cabinet meeting, ministers agreed to continue the cross-party efforts but stressed it was “imperative” for a Brexit deal to get through Parliament by the summer recess.

Theresa May has set a summer deadline for the UK finally to leave the EU, prompting speculation That the PM could be ready to name her departure date.

The decision suggests Ms May is ready to confirm her she will quit within two months when she meets Tory backbench leaders on Thursday, after she promised to quit when the first phase of Brexit is complete.
