Today it June 6. The National Day of my home country, Sweden.

Sweden’s National Day is celebrated every year on June 6 in honour of two historical events: Gustav Vasa being elected king (6 June 1523) and the adoption of a new constitution (6 June 1809). It is a public holiday in Sweden.

The Vikings are now starting to prepare for Midsummer, the most important holiday in Sweden – and for many, the true start of summer. It is celebrated around the summer solstice – when the day is the longest in the land of the midnight sun.
