Altana – TradeNext! What a day we had.

What a great day this was! I feel inspired, exited & energized after the Altana #TradeNext event in the beautiful Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, Washington DC.

Congratulations to Evan Smith & the Altana team for an outstanding event. What an impressive agenda of speakers.

Evan said in his opening remarks this morning, ’Network challenges can only be met by network solutions’.

At the event we made an announcement & signing of a MoU outlining how we together – Maersk & Altana – will join forces to promote the roll-out of a global Product Passport for Goods to enable digital trade corridors & trusted trade as a respons to the challenges of the current trade environment.

In our conversation on stage I summerized the moment by saying, ’…today we saw the future of global trade, and its name is global Product Passports for Goods’.

This initiative has potential to bring outstanding compliance levels, supervision, border predictability & speed to new advanced trade lane route models like the the routes of the Gemeni network.

I especially enjoyed an enlightening interview with journalist Patrick Mcgee (FT, NYT) about Apple & its production in China.
