Time for Digital Trade Corridors and a Passport for Goods

I have for a long time been advocating the development of new evolved version of trusted trade – using an international passport for goods.

In a world where international trade, the driver for growth & prosperity, is getting more complicated by the day, we need new solutions for a new envionment. It is time for a Global Trade 2.0 solution, Digital Trade Corridors using a passport for goods. The idea is gaining momentum.

That is why we now see an accelerated interest for inter-operable trusted trade lanes. The future of trade facilitation & compliance management is called Digital Trade Corridors (DTC).

The recent UK Digital Trade Corridor initiative is another example of the momentum for this new paradigm shift.

These DTCs are inter-connected Intelligent data pipelines using AI powered Product Passports, upstream transactional risk & compliance screening, supply chain visibility data & goods supervision data.

In Maersk we are designing a model together with partners like Altana, Competere, EORI (UK) Limited. .

We have already tested digital trade corridors in operations. The results are impressive & we will see operational DTCs in 2026.

It is time for a passport for goods & you will here me talk more about this in near time.
