Travel chaos post-pandemic effect

There are news from everywhere about travel chaos at airports.

Lufthansa is the latest airline to announce hundreds of cancelled flights for the summer as the travel industry struggles to cope under the pressure following the pandemic.

During the Covid-19 crises the airlines and travel industry went through a never before seen crises. The prognosis for recivery were pessimistic which lead to redundences of staff on airlines, in airports and all over the travel industry. The predictions were wrong. In many places there are only half of the emplyees left and many of the most experienced people have left the industry.

One of the consequences of globalization is that people want to travel. The recovery of travel, both business travel and holiday trips, has been dramatic and most airports and airlines are not ready for it.

So we see congestions and queues reported everywhere, and it all over the pricess, st check-in, in security, at boarding. It will get worse before it gets better. Summer peak travel hasn’t started yet…

This summer will be a nightmare for travel. But at least we can travel. Again.
